Description

He'll share insights into their strategies, challenges overcome, and the innovative tools being developed to achieve this commitment.

Speaker Bio

Peter is an architect with a passion for driving positive environmental and social impacts through design. His focus currently lies in supporting Grimshaw's commitment to design net-zero carbon ready buildings and infrastructure by the end of 2025 and deliver socially and environmentally regenerative designs by 2030. This work involves leading the development of tools and training across the practice to empower design teams in delivering low-carbon and regenerative projects to meet these commitments.

Beyond Grimshaw, Peter's influence extends to national building standards and international research projects. He currently serves as a technical advisor to the UK's first net-zero carbon building standard and is involved in the delivery of Minoro.org – a freely accessible carbon management platform launching later in 2024. The platform leverages Grimshaw's own in-house decarbonisation tools that guide architects towards low carbon design solutions.

Peter is also involved in the CIRCuIT research project – funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 program – developing design strategies, standards and policy recommendations to upscale circular construction practices across the built environment value chain.
