Jason Smith is the former Business Development Manager of Architen Landrell Associates, a specialist tensile fabric company which designs, engineers, manufactures, installs and maintains tensile fabric structures, ETFE systems and fabric canopies. As part of the continuing lecture series on different façade materials, he will speak on the varied uses of fabrics and ETFE, and give an overview on the forms, benefits, practicalities and processes of Tensile Fabric structures.
The lecture will be progressed via a fully insulated tensile fabric structure case study, The Serpentine Sackler Gallery, in participation with Torsten Broeder, Lead Architect of Zaha Hadid Architects. He will touch not only on technical design development of the roof of the Serpentine Sackler Gallery, but will also share his own experience working on the project.
Lance Rowell, the Managing Director of Architen Landrell Associates who has worked with Zaha Hadid Architects on the design and delivery of the structure will be in the to handle technical questions on the project along with Jason Smith and Torsten Broeder.
