About Lake|Flato Architects

Few architecture firms have made sustainable design as accessible and exciting as Lake|Flato. And even fewer firms have put sustainable design on the map like Lake|Flato – raising consciousness of the climate crisis through designs that strengthen the essential bond between humans and nature while captivating students, designers, and the public with projects that are both sustainable and beautiful.

Combining the wisdom of indigenous and vernacular approaches with new technologies for improving performance and resilience, Lake|Flato’s portfolio demonstrates a singular vision of partnering with the environment to create healthier, more inclusive places, inspired by nature.

While the firm has grown over its 40 years with its breadth of projects and diversity of leaders, Lake|Flato’s vision to connect people to nature through a portfolio of restorative and sustainable projects remains profoundly relevant and impactful for people and communities the world over.
