The iconic residential tower forms part of the Golden Lane Estate designed by Chamberlin, Powell and Bon, in 1956, also known for the neighbouring Barbican estate. Influenced by the work of Le Corbusier, the design of the Estate was regarded from the outset as a model of social integration with early tenants including doctors, police officers, secretaries, cleaners and caretakers, and an emphasis on one bedroom flats for single people and couples.
JRA has developed an innovative cladding solution to replicate the current façade with advanced environmental and performance specifications. This is currently being installed with residents in situ.
